What a night! It was great fun and the White Hart Barn was full of flowers and people. The Annual Spring Challenge last night was a hotly fought contest, but Godstone once again lost ‘Teddy’ to Hurst Green Gardening Club. There were some stunning flowers and displays and, despite many suggestions that daffodils were over, there were a huge number of them entered into the challenge! There were some great photos entered too and, whilst the whole thing is a light hearted challenge between friends, there was some very serious concentration on the faces of some of those preparing their blooms and displays! We, the Godstone Gardeners’ Club, put on a great spread, (with a huge amount of work put in by Val and her team), and washed down by a glass of wine, everyone enjoyed the evening.
This year Hurst Green won fair and square! They were better than us … but that doesn’t mean that we aren’t going to try harder next year!!! Watch out Hurst Green … Godstone is out to win!!!!
