This weekend, (12th July), saw the 2014 Summer Show at the White Hart Barn. Entrants to the show are not limited to Gardeners’ Club members, but are open to all. Whilst the majority of entries were from club members not all were and not all winners came from the club. With 67 classes for entrants to choose from, there was something at the show for everyone. We haven’t counted how many entries there were in total but it was certainly several hundred!
The quality of entries was very high and the judges worked very hard to find the winners. (A full list of places in all classes is here.) Whilst competition was strong amongst entrants, the event was friendly and fun for all concerned. Judging was completed just in time before the doors opened at 2pm for both exhibitors and members of the public to come in and see then entries and the winners. Later in the afternoon, the awarding of the cups took place, (a list of winners of both the cups and the sponsored classes is here), and this was followed by a raffle. All in all the day was a resounding success and all exhibitors can be very proud of a spectacular show that was put on. So sorry I couldn’t be there but it looks wonderful. Proof that quality is better than quantity. Quick analysis of monies shows 206 entries and a big increase in profit from teas and admissions. Well done everyone . Claire ( treasurer)
