Ightham Mote is just 4 miles from Tonbridge in Kent and is a house and garden that were donated to the National Trust in 1985. The house dates back to Tudor times and the gardens consist of formal gardens, a walled vegetable garden and a large more natural garden with lakes, ponds and even a children’s play area. This is a lovely place to visit and a gentle stroll around the house and gardens will while away a couple of hours in beautiful surroundings. The only down side for some might be the 1 in 5 slope from the entrance down to the house and gardens but, if you can manage that, there is a prize worth having at the bottom! There is a hand rail to assist in getting back up again!
The daffodils in April were stunning and the garden has all the promise of a great summer garden in the coming months.
